The tender-driving qualification
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 — the National Powerboat Certificate — is the qualification yachts require before you can drive their tender. It’s the single most useful entry ticket for a deckhand, and it’s earned entirely on the water.
Over two days you cover planing and high-speed handling, close-quarters manoeuvring, man-overboard recovery and coastal navigation. The certificate is recognised worldwide and forms the basis for a commercial endorsement and the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).
What’s included
- Two full days on the water off Antibes
- RYA National Powerboat Certificate on completion
- High-speed and low-speed boat handling
- Man-overboard drills and safety
- Pathway to commercial endorsement / ICC
